Get outside the box

We know some of you use Bootprints as a momentary escape from the doldrums of office life. And while we love to provide fuel for your daydreams, we’d much rather help you plan your permanent escape.

So if you’re ready for a little less fluorescent lighting (and – let’s be honest – a lot less pay), consider following one of our paths to your dream job.

Get a WFR, or Wilderness First Responder, certification and not only will you know the right way to treat a snakebite (don’t suck out the venom, cowboy), you’ll also join the top tier of applicants for guide jobs. The week-long course costs anywhere from $600 to more than $1,000.

There’s no outdoor gig quite like being an instructor wtih the National Outdoor Leadership School. NOLS staff are the very best in the adventure business, and guide trips in some of the most beautiful places on Earth. Tuition for the standard month-long tuition course is $4,665.
